Rooted in the Elements, Science, and Spirit
Foxfire Folkworks was created from the understanding that nature holds profound gifts of healing, creativity, and connection—and that everyone deserves access to those gifts. We're here to help people slow down, step outside, and remember what it feels like to be part of the natural world.
About Foxfire Folkworks
Every session, workshop, and walk we offer is trauma-informed, thoughtfully designed, and led with care. We believe that nature connection isn't a luxury—it's essential medicine for our overstimulated, disconnected lives. Whether you're seeking rest, creative inspiration, ecological knowledge, or simply a few hours of peace under the trees, we're here to guide you.
Foxfire seeks partnerships with local farmers, herbalists, naturalists, and artists to create experiences that honor both people and place.
Our work supports not only individual wellbeing, but also community resilience and environmental awareness. When you join us, you're not just attending a program—you're becoming part of a growing network of people committed to healthier relationships with nature, with each other, and with themselves.
About Alex
Foxfire Folkworks was founded in 2024 and is led by me, Alexandria Graff. In the professional world, I began as a digital communications manager, later became a high school teacher, and now, I serve as a certified Forest Therapy Guide and Nature-Informed Therapy practitioner, trained by both the Center for Nature Informed Therapy (CNIT) and the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy (ANFT).
My work is grounded in both science-backed, evidence-based approaches to health, as well as a profound reverence for the earth. I believe our relationship with nature should be reciprocal, not extractive.
Foxfire as a business (and its future non-profit branch) was born from a need to address my own traumas and reconnect with the world that has always supported me—the “More Than Human World.” Building Foxfire has been a labor of love that has never felt like labor at all. This practice merges my professional experience and trainings with a deep personal commitment to animals, environments, and communities. I find joy in helping others rediscover what I have: an innate, inalienable connection to beauty, wonder, health, and peace through nature.
With roots that wind through the American South and southern Midwest, plus a history of traveling different landscapes around the world, I’m back where some of my family began, now calling the beautiful central region of Kentucky my home.
Hope to see y’all out here soon.
